Hot Days and Sweet Memories

Hi Friends! I love the "on this day" feature that Facebook has. I enjoy getting to see how much my children have grown and how much my life has changed. I have shared old stories before and I'm sure there are many more to share. Here is one special day I was reminded of and hope I don't forget. "Harper went down for a nap right around lunch time today. I was so happy! Naps have been a real struggle since we moved. I encouraged lunch to go as fast as it could for Ella and I with the hopes that MAYBE I'd get a few minutes of quiet. Just as Ella was about to head upstairs for a nap, I brewed a cup of coffee, confident that I would get at least 5-10 minutes of quiet to enjoy it. As I was kiss ing Ella and telling her sweet dreams I thought to myself, "forget the coffee, I'll lay down for a nap!" Moving On

We always knew our time would be limited here. When we took the job we said it was a 2 to 3 year plan. We have been here just under 2 years and already our time is up. We have been to beautiful beaches, hiked gorgeous trails and discovered waterfalls. We've visited other islands, made incredible friends. We really have taken full advantage of our time here and done everything we could have in our short time. Moving to Hawaii has done something to me. I feel like I've accomplished something. Coming from small town, Oklahoma I never thought I'd have the opportunity to leave and explore. When I moved to England I was ecstatic and felt some sense of accomplishment, but it was safe. I moved with the military and they took care of me. This move to Hawaii we did on our own. The accomplishment I feel isn't the kind that you think of when you've earned something monetary.
